WHERE CAN I STAY IN SIDMOUTH?

We can arrange homestay accommodation for you and our booking service is FREE.

Our homestay families take students only from SIS so we can guarantee;

no other students of the same nationality
no overcrowding
and no mixing of adult, teenage and junior students.

We can also provide information about self-catering, hotel and B&B accommodation.

WHAT DOES HOMESTAY INCLUDE?

Single or shared bedroom, breakfast and evening meal. Homestay also offers you;

The opportunity to live as part of a British family.
The chance to practise English in everyday situations.
A quiet and comfortable place to study.

WHAT CHECKS DO YOU DO ON FAMILIES THAT HOST STUDENTS UNDER THE AGE OF 18?

The safety and well-being of these young students is our priority and we comply with the Child Protection legislation in the UK.

This includes;

a national police check (DBS), for all members of the family aged 16+,
a check by the local Government Child Protection agency
personal references and regular visits by our Accommodation Officer.

DO YOU HAVE DEDICATED ACCOMMODATION FOR YOUNG STUDENTS AGED 8 - 13 YEARS?

Yes, we have special homestay families who only take our young students. These families have school-aged children of their own and have experience of looking after our younger students. All meals and travel to and from school are included.

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT HOMESTAY ACCOMMODATION?

Self-catering is popular with many of the families who come to SIS every year and there are also many hotels and B&B's in Sidmouth. Please find below reccommendations to alternative accommodation.

Sweetcombe Cottages: Offers a wide variety of accommodation in Sidmouth and the surrounding East Devonshire countryside and villages.

Homestay Accommodation

Most of our homestays are within walking distance of the school. Breakfast and evening meal included with light lunch at weekends. Weekday lunches are not included: lunch is easily bought locally (allow £5 per day) and can be eaten at the school.

Teenage (14 - 17 years)

Standard single room £210 per week

Standard shared room £195 per week

The school must be informed of all medical conditions and special diets. A supplement may be charged.

Junior Homestay Accommodation for Young Learners (8-13 yrs)

Special Junior homestay families are selected for these young students. Price includes room, all meals (packed lunch on weekdays) and daily escorted transfers to and from school.

Junior room £225 per week

The school must be informed of all medical conditions and special diets. A supplement may be charged.
